Reminders: Annual Leadership Conference and Annual Women in Law Prelaw Event

Don't miss out on the Annual JRCLS Leadership Conference, which will be held September 29-30.  The last day to register for the conference is September 23.

Also don't forget about the Annual Women in Law Prelaw Event, which will be held on September 28 at BYU Law School.

General Conference Reception on October 1

You are invited to attend the General Conference Reception and light buffet which is held between the morning and afternoon sessions of Conference on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (Wasatch Room) in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This is a great networking opportunity to visit with BYU Law School faculty and students, classmates, alumni, and Law Society attorneys from all over the world.  Register online by September 23, 2016.

Seventh Annual Religious Freedom Award Dinner

The Seventh Annual Religious Freedom Award Dinner will be held October 6, 2016 at Hotel Monaco in Washington, D.C.  The Law Society congratulates this year's award recipient--Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett--for her many years of support and work for religious liberty.  Winners of the 2016 Founding Fathers Student Writing Competition also will be recognized at the dinner.  Additional details, including registration information, are available here.

Inspirational Thought

"There is little hope for democracy if the hearts of men and women in democratic societies cannot be touched by a call to something greater than themselves."

Margaret Thatcher, as quoted by Elder M. Russell Ballard, "A Light on a Hill" (August 27, 1996)
