Countdown to Annual Conference

Don't miss out on attending the Annual Conference of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, the "Legal Legacy of the Birthplace of America," which will be held February 16-18, 2017 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Highlights include an evening at the National Constitution Center with speaker Jeffrey Rosen, visits to historical sites, and panels on a wide variety of subjects.  CLE will be offered. Visit www.jrcls.org for details about registration, accommodations and the schedule.

Video Recording of Annual Fireside Now Available

The video recording of the recent Annual Fireside is now available online.  The fireside, which was held on January 20, 2017 at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, featured a keynote address by Sister Ruth Lybbert Renlund.

Orange County Religion & the Law Symposium

The 13th Annual Orange County Religion & the Law Symposium will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 11:30 am-1:30 pm, at Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California.  The featured speaker will be Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett, who is the former Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, and who currently serves as President of the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice.  Dr. Swett is the daughter of the late Congressman Tom Lantos, the only Holocaust survivor ever elected to U.S. Congress, and she is a widely respected voice on international human rights and religious freedom concerns.  To register and for more information, contact Jeff Shields at 949-724-7900 or jeff@shieldslawoffices.com.

Save the Date for Regional Women in Law Conference

Save the date for the Fifth Annual Regional Women in Law Conference on April 22, 2017 in Washington, D.C.  This will be an excellent opportunity to network and earn CLE.  More details coming soon!

Inspirational Thought

"Gratitude and humility will give you the clearer vision you need as you search out [life’s] opportunities. And the process itself can bring you great happiness if you bring to it a grateful and humble heart."

—Judge Kent A. Jordan, The Lord is Good to Me: Thoughts on Humility, Gratitude, and Happiness,
Clark Memorandum (Fall 2016)
