JRCLS Annual Fireside

The 2013 JRCLS Annual Fireside will take place on January 25, 2013 and will be broadcast from Salt Lake City.  Elder Larry Echo Hawk, former assistant secretary of the Interior for Indian Affairs, BYU law professor and attorney general of Idaho, now a member of the Quorum of the Seventy, will be the speaker.  We encourage local chapters to begin planning events to watch the fireside together.

2013 is the official 25th Anniversary of the Society.  Start making plans now for your chapter's Anniversary Celebration.  The 2013 JRCLS Conference in Washington DC, February 14-16, 2013 will be the focal point for the Society's Anniversary celebration.  Keynote speakers will include Justice Clarence Thomas of the US Supremem Court and Elder Jeffrey Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve.  Registration is now open at www.jrclsconference.com.  Space is limited to some events so register early for best options.

Inspirational Thought

Finally, in your professional and personal life it is sometimes necessary to take positions that may not seem popluar or accepted.  You will represent clients who may be guilty, unpopular, or polarized by society.  Given your personal beliefs, there will undoubtedly be times which your standards and decisions will be questioned or even ridiculed.  Do not let the unruly crowd define you personally or professionally.  Stand up for what's right, and stand up for those you represent.

—Elder Steven E. Snow, First Quorum of Seventy
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
