This year we will again be joined by student leaders from the JRCLS Student Chapters and by members of the J. Reuben Clark Law School Alumni Board.

At the Leadership meetings we will discuss and make plans for the Law Society. We will share experiences from the past, but focus more on what needs to be done for the future.

We are working on finalizing the agenda, which will include segments for committee meetings, training, sharing best practices, meeting with students, socializing with fellow JRCLS leaders, and hearing from inspirational speakers. We will have discussions about:

• Pro bono initiatives
• The Women in the Law committee
• Growth in student chapters
• Annual JRCLS conference in Boston

And much more including hands on technology training, tips on membership and other useful presentations as well as discussions about future plans.

A dinner will be hosted a dinner at Aspen Grove on Thursday evening, October 2nd. We will start Friday morning October 3rd off with the traditional hike up to Stewart Falls. Stand and sing with fellow law society leaders as the sun rises over the mountain tops in this beautiful setting.

An event especially for spouses of conference participants will be held on Friday, October 3rd from 9:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Spouses will leave Aspen Grove and travel to beautiful Thanksgiving Point for a walking tour of the rolling hills, waterfalls, flowers and streams of Thanksgiving Point Gardens, followed by lunch at the Garden Trellis Café. After lunch, the spouses will return to Aspen Grove to compile activity kits for Utah Valley Regional Medical Center's Pediatrics Unit.

If you have any questions on this event, please contact Suzanne Broadbent at suz.bro@comcast.net.

We are also planning to allow time for you to meet fellow JRCLS leaders from around the world and for Chapter Liaisons to connect with the Chapter leaders they work with. An agenda for the meetings will be posted in the next few months. We plan to have online registration available July 1st, but mark your calendars today and plan on attending the meetings October 2-3, 2008.

The General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will take place October 4-5, 2008. There will be a JRCLS reception on the 4th in the Joseph Smith building between the morning and afternoon sessions of conference.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about the leadership conference please feel free to contact the Leadership Conference organizer, Joshua Randall (801-799-5841; jnrandall@hollandhart.com), or the Chair of the JRCLS Conference Committee, Douglas Bush (202-857-8977; bushd@arentfox.com).
