Leaders Resource Guide- Introduction

The primary purpose of the International Board of the J. Reuben Clark International Law Society (“Law Society”) is to support the leadership of local Law Society chapters in fulfilling the unique mission of the Law Society:

We affirm the strength brought to the law by a lawyer’s personal religious conviction.  We strive through public service and professional excellence to promote fairness and virtue founded upon the rule of law.

One way which the International Board supports local chapter leadership is through the appointment of International Board members as liaisons for each chapter (see Chapter Liaisons ).  These liaisons are in regular contact with local chapter leadership to provide support, counsel and assistance as needed.  In addition, the International Board has organized six committees to develop support resources for local chapter leadership.  These six committees are:

·       Membership

·       Technology

·       Student Chapters

·       Events

·       Leadership

·       Community Outreach & Service

The material contained in this Leader's Resource Guide is a compilation of ideas, programs, policies and advice representing the collective experiences of those who have provided many years of leadership to the Law Society and the best practices of Law Society chapters.  Likewise, we welcome and solicit your ideas and the best practices of your chapter for inclusion in this Resource Guide.

We hope this Resource Guide will serve you well as you lead your chapters.  Thanks for all that you do to fulfill the mission of the Law Society and to bless and enrich the professional lives of your members.
