International Center for Law and Religious Studies Invites JRCLS

International Center for Law and Religious Studies Needs . . . YOU
A wonderful opportunity has been given to us!

We have been asked to help out the International Center for Law and Religious Studies (www.iclrs.org) of the J. Reuben Clark Law School.  The Center's mission is to "help secure the blessings of freedom of religion and belief for all people".  It has "emerged as a recognized leader in the field of religious rights, both at the national level in the United States and internationally".

In collaboration with a sister organization based in Milan, the International Consortium for Law and Religion Studies (www.iclars.org), the Center will be compiling and editing entries for an Encyclopedia of Law and Religion, to be published in early 2014 by Koninklijke Brill NV (Netherlands).  Scholars from 200 countries throughout the world are going to be contributing the articles describing the religious views, conditions, policies, etc. of their countries.

The language of the publication is English, but many of the articles are being written by people who do not speak English as a first language.  If English is your native tongue, YOU are needed to help edit and polish the language of those submitted articles.  They will range in length from 5-20 pages.  The first round of articles is due from the contributors in June.

If you decide you'd like to help, and we certainly hope you do, you would receive an article (you can choose the length and possibly even the country) and would then have 2-3 weeks to edit and return it. Our hope is that this work will be rewarding, involving interesting content and the opportunity for interactions with scholars from many parts of the world.

If you want to participate, please email Nan Barker at nanbarker@gmail.com.
