Elder Oaks' Speech at The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty Canterbury Medal Dinner

Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve received the Canterbury Medal, the highest honor awarded by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, at a dinner on May 16, 2013 in New York City at the beautiful Pierre hotel.  The Becket fund is the leading religious liberty law firm in the United States.  The Canterbury Medal is given to a person who has “most resolutely refused to render to Caesar that which is God’s.” Elder Oaks received the award in recognition of his work defending religious liberty, as a Chicago Law professor, Utah Supreme Court Justice, and LDS Church Apostle.  In receiving the award he gave a scholarly speech that can be read here
