Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett Spoke at that January 23, 2015 Law Society Fireside

Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett, Chair of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), gave a wonderful talk at the 2015 J. Reuben Clark Law Society Annual Fireside.
The USCIRF is an independent, bipartisan, federal body created through the enactment of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 (IRFA).  The Commission uses international standards to monitor the conditions abroad of religious freedom or belief and makes recommendations to the President, Secretary of State and Congress to enhance this precious right.   Dr. Swett is a convert to the Church through the influence of Elder Holland years ago.  Elder Holland introduced her and gave wonderful insights into her early experience with the Church.  She presented a powerful and insightful talk on the importance  of religious freedom around the world and where such freedoms are being challenged.  More information about the Fireside will be coming out in the JRCLS newsletter.
