JRCLS Los Angeles Chapter Gives Back to Community
Members of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society (JRCLS) Chapter in Los Angeles took a break from their busy schedules and gave back to their community for their “Day of Service” on Saturday, June 11.
The JRCLS Los Angeles Chapter invited all members and their families to serve their community by volunteering their Saturday morning to stock shelves, assist in filing orders and help with light cleaning at The Bishop’s Storehouse in the Los Angeles area, a facility owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
JRCLS Los Angeles Chapter Board Member Nancy Allred noted that the event was a great way to give back to the Los Angeles community, as well as to bring families together to work alongside one another.
“Bishop's Storehouses distribute food and other commodities to the poor and needy,” Allred said. “As members of the legal profession, we have been blessed with many educational and career opportunities that are not available to everyone. Working at the Bishop’s Storehouse provided an opportunity to give back to the Los Angeles community.”
Chapter members also had the opportunity to process donations and stock shelves across the street at Deseret Industries.
The event was sponsored by the Women in the Law Committee.
