Women in Law Committee Hosts "Dynamic Duos: Mothers and Daughters in the Law"

Women in Law (WIL) Committee of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society hosted "Dynamic Duos: Mothers and Daughters in the Law" in the Wilkinson Center at BYU. The panel featured a number of mother and daughter lawyers and law students.

Second-year law student Jessica Jardine Wilkes, who spoke with her mother, discussed what it is like to be a law student. Attorney Stephanie Wilkins Pugsley discussed how to balance family and work with her mother, the former Judge Wilkins. Eileen Doyle Crane, pre-law coordinator at UVU spoke with her daughter about choosing a law school. Vice-chair of the Women in Law Committee of the JRCLS, Nan Barker, discussed using legal skills in other areas.

Those in attendance included undergraduate students interested in attending law school, current law students, and male and female attorneys attending the JRCLS Leadership Conference. After the panel discussion, there was a question and answer session and then an opportunity to mingle and enjoy refreshments. All who attended seemed energized about opportunities for women in legal education whether they end up practicing full-time, part-time or not at all.
