How can I become a member of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society?
To join the Law Society (National/International Organization) simply complete the new member form. You will automatically be assigned to a local chapter based on your zip code, however, it will be up to you to contact the local leadership to get on their local records. A list of local leaders/chapter chairs can be found here .

Do I have to be a member of the LDS Church to be a Law Society member? Do I have to be a BYU Law School graduate?
The Law Society welcomes any law school graduate of any faith who supports the mission statement. There is also a Law Student Division available for current law students of any school. For information go to: http://students.jrcls.org/

Is there a fee and/or do I have to renew my membership each year?
There is no fee to join the National/International Law Society and once a member you are always a member unless you indicate otherwise. Local chapters, however, have their own rules regarding fees and membership. You can elect to not participate in the local chapter if you choose.

Do I have to be in the online member directory if I join the Law Society?
No, having your entry listed in the online directory is optional.

How do I get a password for the online directory?

As a member of the Law Society, can I access BYU Law School resources such as the law library or the Career Services Office?
The BYU Law School library is open to the public and anyone can use it. The Career Services Office provides Law Society members access to their "experienced attorneys" job listings. Any Law Society member can access this site, however, it only contains announcements for attorneys with 3+ years of experience. The Career Services Office will also send an email tickler to those who are interested when a new job is posted to the site.
